Bob Vanderbob is developing The Ring, an ambitious art and communication project tied-in with the progress of  MIT spinout Quaise Energy, a company developing the technology to harness the potential for geothermal’s holy grail: tapping into the superhot, superdeep rock miles below our feet, to create a clean, renewable energy source capable of replacing a significant amount of the fossil fuels associated with global warming.

The Ring, a landmark on the site of Quaise's first successful series of test drills in Marble Falls, Texas, will celebrate the starting whistle of the civilizational metamorphosis that will be enabled by an unexpectedly swift shift to clean, sustainable deep geothermal energy as the main driver of global activity on Earth.​
